Space and Geometry
You are required to create a digital portfolio of your learning in Space and Geometry. This portfolio should take the form of a Keynote presentation. Each Activity needs their own slide and you are to place whatever you have been required to complete on that slide.
You also have an overarching task to construct a Quizlet which contains all the necessary terminology in regards to shapes. I will not be giving you the list. It is your responsibility to add to this once you encounter a new term. You must also place a link to this in your final Keynote.
Once you have completed all of the activities, you are required to demonstrate your Depth of Knowledge in the area of prisms, pyramids and how they are capable of being drawn from another angles. You are required to refer to the Depth of Knowledge posters underneath and create a short iMovie clip or Educreation which demonstrates your understanding of the concept. This clip could take the form of you explaining a concept, designing a new activity or whatever you can think of. Use the posters as a guide and get creative.

Todays Meet
At the end of each session you will be required to participate in 'TodaysMeet' with your class mates. You will be required to post your answer to the question before you are allowed to leave for the day.
Activity One:
Choose one Asian pyramid to research in some detail. Prepare some notes and make a podcast in GarageBand including the following points.
This must then be saved to your Space and Geometry Keynote on you Mac.
- use mathematical language to be precise about the shape and nature of the pyramid
- present details about the size of the pyramid and compare it with the size of the Gaza Pyra mid; for example, its base measurements and its approximate height
- include the age of the pyramid
- describe the historical or cultural significance of the pyramid.
This must then be saved to your Space and Geometry Keynote on you Mac.
Activity Two
You are to explore the following website and explore different shapes and their properties. Once you have explored this game you are required to open a Pages document and write what you think the most useful characteristics for defining a 2D object are. Once you have done that you are to place eight 2D shapes into different groups, and a partner is required to determine what characteristics you have sorted these shapes by...use this game to help!
Activity Three
You are to use the plastic nets to construct a variety of shapes. These shapes should be examples of pyramids, prisms and composite shapes (those that combine a prism with a pyramid).
You need to take photographs of these shapes and input the information into a table in Pages.
You will need to state the name of the shape (if it is a regular shape), how many edges, how many vertices and how many faces the shape has.
You are then to use the plastic nets to help you draw a net (or multiple nets) for these shapes. You can add as many rows as you require to the table. Once you have completed this to the best of your ability, please save it in your Space and Geometry Keynote.

Activity Four
You are required to watch the BBC BiteSize Clip looking at 2D Shapes and then answer the attached questions. You are then required the watch the BBC BiteSize Clip looking at 3D Shapes and repeat the same process. You are required to take a screen shot at the end of each quiz and save them to a Pages document. Once you have done that you need to create two questions that could be used to test your peers understanding of 2D shapes, and two question to text their understanding of 3D shapes.
Before doing so, watch the Khan Academy clip to refresh your knowledge on quadrilaterals.

Draw different views of prisms and solids formed from combinations of prisms (ACMMG161)
Activity Five
You are required to complete all four levels of 'Photo Hunt.' At the end of each level you are required to take a screen shot as proof of completion, and place these four photos on a Pages document and save to your Space and Geometry file.
Activity Six
You are required to watch this video on isometric drawing and drawing shapes from the front, side and top view. Once you have watched this video you are to use the wooden blocks to construct three different shapes of between 8 - 12 blocks. The shape can only be one row deep (like the one shown in the video). You must then create an isometric drawing of this shape, and then the front, top and side view. Once you have finished this you need to take a photo of this and save it to your Space and Geometry Keynote.
Activity Seven.
You are to complete the Points of View Game. Once you have completed the tenth stage you are to take a screen shot and save it as proof of completion.
Activity Eight
Your first task for this activity is to come and see me so I can download the app that you need. You will then receive a series of QR Codes which will instruct you to stand in various places around the school and take specific photos of various buildings.
You are then to import these photos into Skitch and show the various prisms and pyramids which have been used to construct the building.
You then need to take screen shots of these and place into your Keynote.
