The Cartesian Plane - Part Two (with a bit of rotational symmetry)
For our next Space and Geometry session, we are going to take our understanding of the Cartesian Plane, and our understanding of transformation (reflections, rotations and flips) and combine them. We are also going to do a quick revision on symmetry, both normal and rotational
In your viewing I have included some basic tutorials and games (actually lots of games) to review the basic concepts of transformation if you need to refresh your understanding. There are also a couple of really cool games where you can practise the various transformations by identifying what has happened.
I have also included two clips on rotational symmetry. This is a concept that everyone should already have a firm grasp on, but I am wary that this information may have floated out or your head since the last time you looked at it.
Same as always we will commence work on these topics the next time I see you, please have a look at these sooner rather than later, and contact me on Edmodo if you need a hand with anything!
By next lesson you should have an understanding of:

By next lesson you should have an understanding of:
- What the different transformations are (reflection, rotation and flip),
- What transformation has happened to the given shape,
- You should be able to identify the line of reflection
- You should be able to identify the point of rotation
- What rotational symmetry is, and what the order of rotation is for a given shape.
